It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that we are closing our stores for a while. This is not a decision we are taking lightly, but one our family and team have made with the well-being and safety of our employees in mind, as well as in the best interests of our customers and local community. We will be calling all customers with upcoming deliveries later today to either rearrange or postpone their bookings, and we hope to have your support as we face these challenging times together, united for the greater good. Those who know us and our core values will know that letting people down is not our style, and we can only apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by these delays.
While the future is full of unknowns, what we do know is that we'll be here throughout to do the best we can. We are proud of our history, supporting local people and communities for over 118 years, through two world wars and five monarchs, in which time we have faced many difficult periods. We will get through this pandemic by working together, and as a business we will adapt, striving to deliver the level of service you have come to expect from us. Please continue to support your local independent retailers throughout these unprecedented times (where best you can), so we can continue to care for our staff, our customers and prioritise those who are most vulnerable in our community.
Our stores will remain closed for the foreseeable future, pending further guidance from the government and health organisations, but in the meantime we have implemented processes and procedures to provide support to our customers from afar. From today, our phone lines will be manned remotely between the hours of 11am and 12pm, where we will be happy to arrange priority deliveries, take payments and answer any questions you may have about our any of our products or services. We will also be updating our website with an online chat facility later this week, allowing you to quickly and conveniently send messages to our team throughout the day.
For now, all that leaves us to do is thank our colleagues, loyal customers and the local community for their continued support. Without you, we wouldn’t be us. Be responsible, stay safe and continue to be kind. Big hugs, much love and we’ll see you on the other side.
Another class bit of customer service today. Two men arrived with my new fridge freezer and said immediately that it wouldn’t go up my stairs, so they called two more who came and removed my (very heavy) balcony railings and brought it in through the first floor french windows. Not a single moan, sucking of teeth or anything - nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend Horsleys enough. Thank you.
